When I was in 4th grade preparing for my first ever trip to camp for a week, my mom told me to gather stuff and get it ready to pack. She taught me to write out a list and check off the items as I got them together. I didn’t know any better at the time and it seemed to work. Much later in life, I’d learn the value of a having a list. When I right it down, I don’t have to remember it! Wow! I can use that brainpower for something else! With every smartphone loaded with a notes app, it’s easier than ever. If you aren’t writing out lists for all these things, give it try. Groceries, packing for a trip, conversation topics with others, planning for better mornings, internet research items, Christmas shopping, kid’s school shopping, household chores, errands. Give your brain a break. Write it down next time!
